Do you have an office I can come to.
Currently, no. Continuum Bodywork operates as a 100% mobile massage service, bringing professional therapeutic care directly to your home or office. Continued client support may allow for a physical clinic space in the future!
How much space do you need to do a massage?
At a minimum, an open area of about 8 feet by 4 feet is required to comfortably set up the massage table and allow room to work. Generally, the more space available, the better!"
What should I wear / Do I have to be naked?
Not at all. This is your session, and your comfort is the top priority. You may undress to your personal comfort level—whether that means remaining fully clothed, keeping undergarments on, or undressing completely. Please note that skin-to-skin contact is most effective for oil-based techniques, while dedicated stretching sessions are best done in tight-fitting workout clothing.
Do you do Swedish?
In a way! While 'Swedish' is a common spa buzzword, most modern therapeutic work blends multiple modalities. If your primary goal is deep relaxation, I will absolutely customize your session using smooth, flowing techniques to accomplish exactly that.
Does it hurt?
Yes and no, releasing chronic muscular tension can occasionally cause temporary discomfort, often described as a 'good hurt.' When relieving nerve impingements or tight compartments, you might experience brief burning or tingling sensations as restriction is removed. Clear communication is key, we will always work strictly within your personal tolerance level.
Can I talk during the massage?
Absolutely. Communicating your physical feedback, questions, or comfort adjustments during the session is highly encouraged. If you prefer to chat about life or vent about external stressors to unwind, that is completely fine too! Just please keep in mind that while a good conversation helps relieve stress, I am not a mental health professional and cannot offer clinical psychological advice.
Do I have to tip and how much?
Rates are structured so that I can earn a sustainable living wage, so tipping is never required. However, if you are inclined to show extra appreciation for your session, an industry-standard tip is typically between 15% and 30% of the service total.
When should you avoid massage?
Please avoid scheduling a session if you are acutely sick or fighting a contagious illness. If you are taking antibiotics, you should be at least halfway through your prescription before your appointment. For acute injuries involving recent fractures, severe swelling, or trauma (such as a recent motor vehicle accident), medical clearance from a physician is required. Additionally, it is highly recommended to wait 2 days after a long-distance flight or drive exceeding 8 hours; particularly if you deal with chronic fluid retention, blood clots, hypertension, or are currently pregnant.
How often should I get a massage?
For general wellness and maintenance, once a month is ideal. Specific acute or chronic issues might temporarily benefit from more frequent targeted treatment, depending on your schedule and budget. To allow proper tissue recovery, I generally do not recommend booking sessions fewer than 3 to 5 days apart.
